'Two con men from New York City run out of money in Holland. Unable to pay for their stay at an inn called The Red Mill, they take jobs there to work off their debt. Via various machinations, they win love and riches for the young people of the town.

The enchanting songs include: "Moonbeams," "The Isle of Our Dreams," "Because You're You," "Every Day is Ladies Day With Me," And a tune still heard today, "In Old New York."'
