LIGHT OPERA OF NEW YORK

The Light Opera of New York is pleased to accept audition materials at any time from qualified singers with operatically trained voices. All positions are paid.

Leads:

Light Opera of New York announces auditions for its 2012 season, featuring Friml’s and Stothart’s ROSE-MARIE, Herbert’s EILEEN and Coward’s BITTER SWEET.  All productions are in English and fully-staged, with costumes and orchestra. 
 
Performances dates:

• ROSE MARIE, February 2 and 3
• EILEEN, March 16 and 17
• BITTER SWEET, May 11 and 12

Auditions: by appointment only, Dec. 15 and 17.  Please prepare an appropriate operetta/light opera song in English.  An accompanist will be provided at no charge, or you may bring your own.

Casting requirements for all shows include 6 sopranos, 3 mezzo-sopranos, 5 tenors, 1 high light Irish tenor and 8 baritone roles.

• Lead/supporting roles may also be cast as chorus in other shows.
• Production rehearsal period begins two weeks before each show opens.
• All leading/supporting roles and chorus are compensated.
• No age limit.
