Audition Information
The Light Opera of New York is pleased to accept audition materials at any time from qualified singers with operatically trained voices. All positions are paid.
Leads:
Light Opera of New York announces auditions for its 2012 season, featuring Friml’s and Stothart’s ROSE-MARIE, Herbert’s EILEEN and Coward’s BITTER SWEET. All productions are in English and fully-staged, with costumes and orchestra.
Performances dates:
- ROSE MARIE, February 2 and 3
- EILEEN, March 16 and 17
- BITTER SWEET, May 11 and 12
Auditions: by appointment only, Dec. 15 and 17. Please prepare an appropriate operetta/light opera song in English. An accompanist will be provided at no charge, or you may bring your own.
Casting requirements for all shows include 6 sopranos, 3 mezzo-sopranos, 5 tenors, 1 high light Irish tenor and 8 baritone roles.
- Lead/supporting roles may also be cast as chorus in other shows.
- Production rehearsal period begins two weeks before each show opens.
- All leading/supporting roles and chorus are compensated.
- No age limit.
